My first name is pronounced ‘shell’ which is appropriate for an old Swede, located among other shells drifting ashore here at the North Carolina coast.
Wife Brita and I have lived in this beautiful state since 1971, and here at the coast since 1994.
I see this web site as a way to communicate with family and friends - old and new. It is also a place to document some thoughts and to share information with anyone who happens to stop by.
As you will, no doubt, discover, this is not a slick commercial site, but rather a spontaneous, conversational site. Designing this site is a little like decorating a Christmas tree. I have decided on three major sections which you find by clicking on one of the next lines:
IN TOUCH WITH THE WORLD FROM HOME
OPINIONS AND OBSERVATIONS
NEAT STUFF
Each section has an introduction and links to other pages on the same themes, but that is a completely unstructured bunch of thoughts and stories as they pop up in this old brain.
Of course, I’d like to hear from you, so here is a link to my e-mail: CLICK HERE Jump right in, if you are interested!
GREAT NEWS!!!!
The idea with this web site was always to mix the text with a lot of pictures. Now there is a better way, thanks to GOOGLE and its Picasa program. Picasa is an easy way to monitor your pictures, but now they have a new feature, called Web Albums.
I simply upload selected pictures and organize them into ‘albums’ by different topics. CLICK HERE to go to my albums (click on ‘back’ to return to the web site). Hopefully, the titles are self-explanatory. Now you click on the album you want to see, and that album fills the screen with small pictures. You can click on individual pictures to enlarge them, but a better way is to click on ‘slideshow’ in the upper left side of the screen.
Now, all the pictures will automatically be displayed in full screen format for a few seconds each.
This doesn’t mean that pictures will entirely disappear from the web pages, but this is more convenient. If there is a better mousetrap, why not use it?
